Delivery Rider Caught Urinating In Artarmon Apartment Lift

An Uber Eats delivery rider has sparked outrage among Artarmon residents after being caught on CCTV urinating in an apartment building elevator while holding a customer’s food order.

The incident occurred around 1:45 PM on March 10 at Northview Apartments. Security footage shows the delivery person holding a Betty’s Burgers order in his right hand while urinating in the corner of the elevator before proceeding to deliver the food to a resident on the 10th floor.

Geoffrey Grasso, a resident and the building’s secretary, expressed his disgust at the situation. “It raises a whole bunch of questions about their food handling training of their drivers at the very, very least,” he said. “But the one thing that literally disgusts me is the fact that he is holding those people’s food while he is urinating and then delivers it to them.”

Despite professional cleaning, residents report the elevator still reeks of urine. Building management estimates it will cost at least $2,000 to replace the carpet, which they believe has been permanently soiled.

The incident has been reported to NSW Police, NSW Fair Trading, and the Point to Point Transport Commissioner, which oversees ride-share services. Residents claim they received “no meaningful response” from Uber after multiple complaints.

An Uber spokesperson has since stated: “We strongly condemn this kind of behaviour, which has no place on the Uber platform. We are currently investigating and will be taking necessary action.”

Police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
