Artarmon Pet Care Business Owner Takes Home Four National Awards

An Artarmon business owner has been recognised at the national level, taking home four prestigious awards that celebrate Australian mum-led enterprises.

Candice Wilson, founder and director of Bloomingtails, received four AusMumpreneur Awards in 2025, marking a significant milestone as her business approaches its tenth anniversary this November.

The awards recognise Wilson’s dedication to ethical animal care, with her business earning Animal Care Business of the Year (Gold), Service Business of the Year (Pink), Customer Service Business People’s Choice (Gold), and Business Making a Difference People’s Choice (Pink).

Wilson established Bloomingtails in 2015, transforming her lifelong passion for animals into a comprehensive pet care service. The business operates from a grooming salon and doggy daycare facility on Pacific Highway in Artarmon, whilst also running a farm stay operation in the Hunter Valley that launched in 2022.

Her extensive qualifications underpin the business’s professional approach. Wilson holds Certificate III and IV in Veterinary Nursing, plus a Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care. She previously worked as an emergency and critical care nurse at North Shore Veterinary Specialist Hospital before pursuing her entrepreneurial ambitions.

The Artarmon salon creates what Wilson describes as a peaceful environment, using natural essential oils and Australian-made grooming products. Each dog receives healthy treats throughout their grooming experience, reflecting the business’s commitment to animal welfare.

Bloomingtails has grown to serve thousands of pet owners across Sydney’s Lower North Shore and beyond. The business is a member of the Pet Industry Association Australia, which maintains exacting standards to ensure animal welfare and promote responsible pet ownership.

Wilson’s Hunter Valley property houses not only the farm stay operation but also her young family’s collection of animals, including four dogs, a cat, ducks, geese, and guinea pigs.

The recent awards build on Wilson’s previous success at the AusMumpreneur Awards, where she was recognised across all seven categories in 2023, including Animal Care Business of the Year.

As Bloomingtails approaches its decade milestone, Wilson says the recognition feels especially meaningful, highlighting the supportive community that has enabled the business to flourish from a simple dream into a trusted sanctuary for pets and their families.

The AusMumpreneur Awards celebrate mums in business across Australia, recognising achievements in business development, innovation, and customer service within the growing community of mother entrepreneurs.
