Locals who rely on Home HQ Artarmon for weekend shopping trips may soon see changes, with the popular Lower North Shore centre now on the market.

A Rare Opportunity for the Local Area

Home HQ, a popular Lower North Shore destination for homewares and large-format retail, is for sale. Located in Artarmon near the Sydney CBD, it has long been a go-to for furniture, appliances and more in an area with few alternatives.

Only three large-format retail centres exist within 10 kilometres, making this sale a rare event in Sydney’s inner north. The centre’s reach spans more than 678,000 residents, with household incomes well above the city average.

Part of the Neighbourhood for Over a Decade

Opened in the early 2010s, Home HQ has become a go-to for locals shopping for everything from lounge suites to kitchen appliances. Its tenants include national brands such as Freedom, JB Hi-Fi, Nick Scali and The Good Guys.

The centre also has a growing food and beverage lineup, featuring the popular Depot Brewery. For many families, it has been a regular weekend destination for home projects and casual dining.

What’s on Offer

The property spans nearly 24,000 square metres of retail space and includes 427 parking spaces across basement and ground levels. Multiple loading docks make it practical for larger deliveries, supporting the needs of its retailers.

Around 97 per cent of the centre is currently leased, with more than 90 per cent of the space occupied by national retailers. This stability has been part of its appeal for the community, providing consistent services and goods over the years.

What Happens Next

The sale is being managed through an international expressions-of-interest campaign led by JLL and McVay Real Estate. Submissions close 28 August. While the outcome remains to be seen, any change in ownership will be closely watched by locals who rely on Home HQ as a key part of their shopping routine.

For the community, the hope is that future owners continue to support the centre’s role as a convenient, reliable and accessible retail hub for the Lower North Shore.
